Sports Nutrition Coaching
Study the science behind sports nutrition, and its applications
This course specifically focuses on the nutrient requirements of athletes and sports teams.
As with all elements of training and performance, dietary needs should be tailored to suit the individual player or athlete. Each player/athlete will have different energy and recovery requirements, be it sport or position specific or possibly varied tastes in the foods they like or dislike. For this reason, it is difficult to suggest that, as a team, all players should eat the same “menu” in terms of food and portion size. This in-depth course covers topics like, how the amount, composition, and timing of food intake can profoundly affect sports performance. How good nutrition will help athletes train hard, recover quickly and adapt more effectively with less risk of illness or injury. What good nutritional strategies need to be adopted before, during and after training to help maximize performance.
Whether you’re a nutrition enthusiast, fitness instructor, or personal trainer wishing to gain a deeper level of knowledge of how to adapt the diet to optimise sports performance this course will give an extensive understanding enabling you to provide appropriate nutrition advice to sports clients.
